Santa bringing a ‘special ride’ to Jefferson

When Santa and Mrs Claus return to Jefferson Saturday morning they’ll arrive in a very special mode of transportation, one which they haven’t yet used on a Jefferson run.

“We had a lot of fun in Jefferson last Saturday. Greene County people are great, and there sure are a lot of kids there on our “nice” list,” Santa said. “We’re happy to be coming back, and thinking about the way we’re arriving excites both Mrs Claus and me.”

The head scheduler elf provided just one hint: the Clauses will be in Scranton before they come to Jefferson.

Santa and Mrs Claus, and their ride, will be at the Masonic lodge (formerly Figenshaw Furniture) on the west side of the courthouse square from 10 am to noon. All children who visit the Clauses will receive a coupon to take an adult to the top of the Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower free. Children never had to pay for a ride to the top.

The Clauses visit in Jefferson and the bell tower visits are sponsored by the Greene County Chamber of Commerce.
